ART. 4 TEAMS |
|
The players of the same team may wear shoes and socks in THE SAME colour or colour combination. |

ART. 9 BEGINNING AND END OF A PERIOD OR THE GAME |
|
For all the games, the first team named in the programme (Home Team) shall have the choice of team bench and own basket. |
For all the games, the first team named in the programme (Home Team) shall have the team bench and its own basket on the LEFT side of the scorer’s table facing the playing court. However, if the two teams involved agree, they may interchange the benches and/or baskets. |

ART. 12 JUMP BALL AND ALTERNATING POSSESSION |
|
A jump ball will take place at the centre circle to commence the game. Whichever team secures possession of the ball following the tap will also be awarded possession of the ball from a throw-in at the mid-court-line, opposite the scorer’s table, at the beginning of the 4th quarter. Their opponents will begin the 2nd and 3rd quarters with possession of the ball from a throw-in at the mid-court-line opposite the scorer’s table. It only applies to the beginning of the four quarters during normal playing time, it does not apply to jumps balls called during play or at the beginning of extra periods.
NB. The broken semi-circle lines within the restricted areas must NOT be deleted. |
There will be only one jump ball administration during a game
- including extra-periods – at the beginning of the first period.
For all others jump ball situations the alternating possession arrow shall be applied. |

ART. 18/19 CHARGED TIME-OUT and SUBSTITUTION RULE |
|
1)
- In the case of the ball becoming dead after a successful final or only free throw penalty, a new time-out and substitution opportunity begins.

A time-out/substitution opportunity ends when the ball is at the disposal of the player for the first or only free-throw. A charged time-out/substitution shall not be permitted between or after free throw(s) caused by one foul penalty until the ball becomes dead again, after a clock-running phase of the game.

- If the request is made after the ball is at the disposal of the free throw shooter it shall only be granted if the final or only free throw is successful.
|
A time-out/substitution opportunity ends when the ball is at the disposal of the player for the first or only free-throw.
|
- In the case of a penalty involving free throw(s) plus possession of the ball from the mid court line, requests for a time-out and substitution between the final or only free throw (whether successful or not) and the throw in from the mid court line shall be granted. The game shall be restarted with the throw in from the mid court line in front of the table.

2) During the last two minutes of the fourth (4th) period or any extra period(s) a timeout or substitution shall be awarded to EITHER team following a successful field goal.

3) During the last two (2) minutes of the fourth (4th) quarter or any extra period if a time-out is granted to the team that has conceded a field goal or has been awarded possession of the ball in its back court, the throw-in following the time-out shall be administered at THE MID-COURT LINE in front of the scorer’s table. The player taking the throw-in may pass the ball into the front or back court.

3) During the last two (2) minutes of the fourth (4th) quarter or any extra period if a time-out is granted to the team that has conceded a field goal or has been awarded possession of the ball in its back court, the throw-in following the time-out shall be administered at the place nearest to where the game was interrupted, except directly behind the backboard, unless otherwise stated in the rule.

ART. 33 PERSONAL FOUL (CHARGE/BLOCK INTERPRETATION) |
|
A semi-circle shall be drawn 1.22 m from the centre point of the basket ring, which is 1.575m from the endline, to the inside edge of the semi-circle for the purpose of designating a restricted area for the interpretation of charge/block calls under the basket.
An offensive foul should never be called if the contact by the offensive player is with a defensive opponent standing within the restricted area inside of the semi-circle.
