Änderung der 24-Sekunden-Regel

FIBAArt. 37 Twenty-four seconds

37.1 Rule

37.1.1 Whenever a player gains control of a live ball on the court, his team must attempt a shot for a field goal within twenty-four (24) seconds.

To constitute a shot for a field goal, the following conditions must be complied with:

  • The ball must leave the player's hand(s) on the shot for a field goal before the 24-second device Signal sounds, and
  • After the ball has left the player's hand(s) on the shot for a field goal, the ball must touch the ring or enter the basket.
  • 37.1.2 When a shot for a field goal is attempted near the end of the 24-second period and the Signal sounds while the ball is in the air after leaving the player's hand(s) on the shot for a field goal:

  • If the ball enters the basket, no violation has occurred, the Signal shall be disregarded and the goal shall count.
  • If the ball touches the ring but does not enter the basket, no violation has occurred, the Signal shall be disregarded and the game shall continue.
  • If the ball hits the backboard (not the ring) or misses the ring, a violation has occurred and the ball is awarded to the opponents for a throw-in from out-of-bounds at the place closest to the place where the shot was attempted.
  • All restrictions related to goaltending and interference shall apply.

    37.2 Procedure

37.2.1 If the 24-second device was reset in error, the official may stop the game immediately upon discovery, as long as neither team is placed at a disadvantage.

37.2.2 If the game is stopped by an official for any valid reason, not connected with either team, than the time on the 24-second device shall be corrected and possession of the ball shall be returned to the team that previously had control of the ball unless, in the judgement of the officials, the opponents have been placed at a disadvantage. It this case the 24-second device shall continue from the time it was stopped.

37.2.3 If the 24-second device Signal sounds in error while a team has control of the ball or neither team has control of the ball, the Signal sound shall be disregarded and the game shall continue.
